Planning a great ride into the beautiful state of Iowa.

We will depart Friday afternoon for a direct ride to Savanna Il, checking in around 3:00pm.

We will be staying at Savanna Inn Suites, 101 Valley View Rd, Savanna, IL 61074, Phone: (815) 273-2288. Let them know you're with HEMM. Book 2 nights, Friday 7/31 and Saturday 8/1, Rooms are around 165.00, Please book as soon as possible, rates will increase and availability is not guaranteed going forward.
Shuttle bus service is available until 2 am and will provide transportation to all the local restaurants and bars.

Saturday am after breakfast we will take a long route to Breitbach's Country Dining Balltown Rd, Balltown, Iowa for lunch. Breitbach's is the oldest established bar and restaurant in Iowa.

After lunch we will enjoy some of the views Iowa has to offer, taking the long way back to Savanna for dinner.

Here's the weekend plan,

  • Friday, Ride to Savanna 115 Miles 2.35 hours plus stops. Check in, unpack then head out for dinner.

  • Saturday, Savanna to Balltown for lunch, 80 miles 1:57 hours plus stops. We will leave around 9:30 am from the Hotel and should arrive at Breitbachs for lunch around noon. We cross the River in Savanna and head north west.

  • Saturday, Balltown back to Savanna, 162 Miles 3:51 hours plus stops. We head north from Balltown and cross back over the river in Prairie Du Chien. We should leave Breitbachs around 1:30 and be back at the hotel around 5:45 or 6:00pm. We will be heading back through the driftless area which is considered an excellent and highly scenic motorcycle area. It features beautiful tree-lined stretches, sweeping curves, and stunning views of the Mississippi River, deep river valleys and limestone bluffs.

  • Sunday, Leave around 10:00. 166 miles 3:51 hours plus stops. We will go through Galena and pick up Stage Coach road and then work into Rt 72. ETA home about 3:00 pm
