What we’re about
We started up the HOFNAR experience a while ago because we looked around and found all our friends getting married, having babies and then not wanting to do anything!
We still want to go out on the town. We still want to go away on cool holidays. We still want to do STUFF!
...and so the HOFNAR experience was born...
We run all kinds of stuff - days out biking in the forest, camping weekends, skiing and snowboarding holidays, learn to surf or kitesurf weekends, mountain biking and multi activity holidays in the French Alps, surf camps down on the Cornish coast.... all kinds of STUFF!
Most of the people that join us come along on their own. This is mostly because it's SO difficult getting your friends to do anything a bit different. Most of the people that come along on our events are single, in their twenties and thirties and come from all walks of life. The average age is about 29yrs old.
We also organise weekends and days out for private groups. So if you have a crew that fancies camping or messing about on speed boats get in touch. These events are perfect if you've been lumped with the task of arranging a stag or hen weekend.
So if you would like to hook up with like-minded active people, come along to any of our bits and pieces we have lined up. You'll be in good company and made very welcome.

We have found the most picturesque spot on the North Devon Coast with beautiful panoramic sea and countryside views along with amazing sunsets over a tiny island called Lundy.
Sold!?We’re heading to Westacott Farm Campsite (about 10 minutes from Bideford). It’s a beautiful spot with fantastic facilities including a bistro hut for some grub in the evening.
On both Saturday & Sunday after mean bacon sarnie (veggie options available) cooked by Lou we will spend the day at North Devon Wake park where the plan here is super flexi.
Whether you're a seasoned water enthusiast or just looking to try something new, this park offers a whole range of water-based activities from wakeboarding, kneeboarding and an awesome aquapark. If you are fancying something a bit more chill there is open water swimming or Paddleboarding on North Devons calmest lake.

Make your own way, or join the HOFNAR minibus on Friday afternoon out of Hammersmith (or anywhere en route)
We'll meet up at the YHA Ambleside on the Friday afternoon / evening and (depending on what time everyone gets there) head for a stroll along the lake and get dinner at a pub in the village. That evening we'll put together our final plan of action, depending on the weather and what our guides suggest. But this is what we are currently thinking...
- We are looking to do a fairly chunky hike on the Saturday. Route suggestions are welcome, but we are thinking Helvellyn via Striding Edge. It's a classic, but it's so good; we'll be looking to avoid the crowds, find some spectacular views and go wild swimming in remote tarns.
- In the evening we'll be joining Windermere Wakesurfing for an epic time learning to wakesurf. (This is optional and subject to numbers...[if we can get 6 people, it's £45 each]). We'll have dinner in Bowness. - After breakfast on Sunday morning we'll go SUPing on Lake Windermere and explore the northern end of the lake and after a lazy picnic lunch we'll go for a short / easy hike up to the Stock Ghyll Force (cool waterfall)
- We'll leave the Lake District at about 4pm, looking to be back in London for last trains.
It will be a weekend of adventure, laughs, fitness, exploring, new friends... just so much fun, and definitely something to talk about come Monday morning when people say to you, 'get up to anything interesting this weekend?!'
