Hiking the Iconic Lake District

Hosted by the HOFNAR team, this is going to be EPIC!

Make your own way, or join the HOFNAR minibus on Friday morning out of Hammersmith (or anywhere en route)

We’ll meet up at the 4* Crow Park Hotel on the Friday afternoon / evening and (depending on what time everyone gets there) head for a stroll into Keswick and get dinner in a local hostelry. That evening we’ll put together our final plan of action, depending on the weather and what our guides suggest. But this is what we are currently thinking…





– We are looking to do a fairly chunky hike on the Saturday. Route suggestions are welcome, but we are thinking of taking on England’s highest peak – Scafell Pike. It’s a classic, but it’s so good; we’ll be looking to avoid the crowds, find some spectacular views and go wild swimming in remote tarns.

– After breakfast on Sunday morning we’ll do the slightly easier going, yet super rewarding Catbells hike. (We don’t have a qualified guide for this low level hike. Please do bear this in mind before booking.) In the afternoon, we might grab SUPs and go for a cheeky paddle on Derwent water before heading home.

– We’ll leave the Lake District at about 4pm, looking to be back in London for last trains.

It will be a weekend of adventure, laughs, fitness, exploring, new friends… just so much fun, and definitely something to talk about come Monday morning when people say to you, ‘get up to anything interesting this weekend?!’

– if you’d like to join the HOFNAR minibus from London (leaving at 11am on Friday) the price is £100pp. You can jump on the bus anywhere along the route.

To Bring:
– Waterproofs (if you do not have the guide may not let you hike with us)
– Suitable footware with good grips (if you do not have the guide may not let you hike with us, if you are not sure have a chat with us in advance)
– NO JEANS / DENIM ON THE HIKE
– Rucksack
– Swimsuit
– Trainers you don’t mind getting wet / slightly beaten up in the lake

Kitesurfing in the Red Sea

This October we’re swapping chalets for catamarans and heading off on a proper kite safari adventure.

We’re teaming up with the legends at Sick Dog Surf for a week of kitesurfing, sunshine, island hopping and living on a boat somewhere warm and ridiculously beautiful.

The plan?
Spend the week cruising between remote islands in the Red Sea, chasing the best wind conditions and kiting straight from the boat

Expect:
*warm flat-water lagoons
*daily kitesurfing sessions
*remote beaches & island stops
*sunset beers on deck
*swimming, snorkelling, music & boat life chaos
*freshly prepared meals onboard
*waking up somewhere different most mornings

Whether you’re already into kitesurfing or looking to learn properly from scratch, this trip is designed to be super fun, social and laid-back.

The Sick Dog crew provide coaching, rescue cover and guidance throughout the week, so it works for a mix of levels — from complete beginners through to experienced riders looking to progress their riding.

And because this is HOFNAR… expect plenty of laughs, questionable dance moves and a very social atmosphere once the kites come down
We’re keeping the group intentionally small, so spots are super limited.

** This trip is entirely run by Sick Dog Surfing and your booking will be directly with them. Lou from HOFNAR is going along to add the vibes and bring some HOFNAR flair.**

Yr Wdffa (Snowdon) Weekend

Hiking Yr Wdffa (Snowdon) on the Saturday and then the next part is up to you! White water rafting? Underground trampoling? Mine exploring? Mountain Biking? More hiking?

Suggested itinerary (a little flexi depending on weather…)

• First evening: we’ll meet at the 3* Glan Aber Hotel in Betws-y-Coed. Let’s head out for dinner and work the plan out for the weekend.
• The next morning we’ll head out early to meet our guide. We plan to climb Yr Wddfa (formerly known as Snowdon) – the highest mountain in Wales. And we plan on doing one of the more interesting routes either the formidable Crib Goch, or avoiding the crowds maybe via the South Ridge. Obvs we’ll end at the pub and that evening we’ll go out for a drink or two in Betws y Coed.
• On Sunday morning we are planning on doing another activity and we’ll work it out via our WhatsApp group in advance; we can do more hiking, we could find a swim spot, we could hire mountain bikes / E-bikes, we could go river rafting, zip lining, mountain karting, or even underground trampolining! What do you fancy?
• This will be the most amazing weekend and you HAVE to come. When you go back to work the next day and somebody says, ‘do anything interesting at the weekend?’….
