Christmas ski trip - perfect for solo travellers
Details
If you have no set plans for Christmas - come with us!
Most of our guests are solo travellers and come away at Christmas for a whole host of reasons. We have an absolute blast.
We are headed to Morzine in the French Alps for a week of skiing, snowboarding and having a brilliant holiday.
The price of the trip includes tickets to the cheesiest club in town for Christmas Eve and on the big day itself we'll held out onto the slopes, probably wearing a Santa hat!
In the evening we'll have a slap up traditional turkey dinner and probably Secret Santa too!
Let's do it!
Included:
- Shared accommodation (Don’t worry if you’re travelling solo, we’ll match you with someone the same sex).
- Welcome drinks.
- 5 evening meals on evenings of the chalet’s choice (normally we eat out as ‘a chalet’ on the first / last evenings at your own expense, but it’s all pretty flexi). Including Roast Turkey on Christmas day!
- Unlimited beer, wine, soft drinks, tea, coffee & hot chocolate (alcohol with meals).
- Breakfast each morning of porridge, cereal, baguettes, jams, toast, fruit, eggs … and on one morning we will have a full English fried breakfast.
- “Raid the fridge” policy, with snacks, biscuits, cakes, waffles etc available at all times.
- You are welcome to make sandwiches and take packed lunches out of the chalet supplies.
- Ticket to The Cavern for Xmas Eve party
- HOFNAR hosts do everything from cooking breakfast and hanging out on the slopes with you to preparing dinner and leading the all important aprés!
- Benefit of staying with a small group of like minded people, in a really laid back chalet where you can raid the fridge, wander around in your pyjamas, really make yourself at home and there are no kids!
NOT included:
- Travel to France – Most people fly to / from Geneva Airport (look on kayak.co.uk or skyscanner.net for some of the best prices). Any arrival or departure times are fine. Although your room might not be ready – you could definitely arrive early / leave late and bag extra days on the snow!
- Obvs, the plane isn’t the only way – here’s a few more ideas
- Transfers from / to Geneva. Expect about £60 each way… you can go cheaper on scheduled services, but these often won’t wait and might drop you ‘a bit of a walk’ from the chalet.
- A lift pass – we can have this waiting for you in the chalet – read about the options here
- Equipment Hire – we work with Hubert Sports in Morzine. They give HOFNAR guests 20% off, but expect about £130 for a week’s hire of skis or snowboard and boots
- Lessons – we work with all the schools in Morzine – more info here
- Clothing – you need your own ski / snowboard gear – beg, borrow, steal from friends otherwise use ebay, TK Maxx. Check out our packing list or if you need more help just give us a shout!
- Insurance – Comprehensive travel insurance including winter sports cover is a condition of booking. All guests must have adequate cover in place before travelling.
- Two nights we normally go out for dinner as a group and at your own expense. Typically we’ll go for a fairly informal pizza on the first night and something more “Français” on the last.
