Many Reiki lineages include the Chakras as part of Reiki practice. However, there is no mention of the chakras in the teachings of Mikao Usui, the originator of Usui Reiki Ryoho. He mentioned the Three Tanden, the human energy centres familiar in the Japanese energy healing tradition.

In this class, we will cover:

1. A brief intro to Reiki Practice in the original Japanese lineage
2. The true origin of the Chakra System
3. The origin of and an explanation of the Tanden System
4. Reiki practices working with the Three Tanden, also called the Three Diamonds.

There will be time to share your personal experiences & thoughts on the topics covered at the end.

• This class is open to Reiki practitioners at all levels from all lineages, as well as other therapists, energy and spiritual healers interested in learning about Japanese Reiki Practice and experiencing the energy
• 2CPD points for Reiki Qualified practitioners on request.
• Slides/class handouts and recordings will be available straight after the class.

In this class, we'll look at:

• the significance of Imbolc, the ways it's honoured traditionally, and how we can connect to it in our lives
• Brigid, Celtic Triple Goddess of Imbolc; why and how to invoke her
• Imbolc offerings, colours, symbols, and foods, and how to set an Imbolc Altar
• Celtic Starlore: Taurus and the Milky Way as Imbolc focal points
• Imbolc Candle Magic for Inspiration, Healing, and Hearth/or Forge (home or business/work)
• Imbolc Fire Divination, and Manifesting with the Fire Element

There will be an Imbolc Workbook available for the class, but have your journal ready too, and some candles (white and green, and if you have any, red and yellow/gold).

In the Celtic Wheel of the Year, Imbolc is the Cross-quarter Day halfway between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. We can see the increase of light, the first stirrings of nature, and the first buds. We have all these ideas and hopes, but we're being tested to grow.

The Celtic Calendar was a lunisolar system, with the months running from Full Moon to Full Moon, and had a Dark Half of the year from Samhain to Beltane (November to May), and a Light Half from Beltane to Samhain (May to November). Some celebrate Imbolc on the 1st and/or 2nd of February, others on the first Monday in February, a reminder that Imbolc usually happens near a New Moon (in the dark half, but inching towards the light) - this year it's at a Full Moon!

Whether you celebrate Imbolc, Candlemas, or Ground Hog Day, early February in the Northern Hemisphere is a time of awakening and new life, the year's first green shoots, new lambs in the pastures, and our own fresh thoughts, dreams, hopes, and plans. The revival of nature is a new chance for us all to reawaken our souls and channel our energies toward our renewal and growth.
