A 3 days full sailing experience will be offered as a course where you will learn about basic of sailing and we will be sailing in the most beautiful marinas and towns in the Netherlands.
The course will be held in Ijselmeer, which is the largest inland water body in the Netherlands. In this version, the boat will accommodate up to 8 people. There are different sleeping areas in the yacht which depending on the space occupied by people, different costs will apply. We will spend the nights mooring in different marinas in Ijselmeer and sleep in the boat.
The departure marina is to be defined, but we will share a ride to get to the designated marinas.
Course and the syllabus
Cruising Level 1 - Start Sailing
It covers the basics of sailing a boat, focusing on sailing skills and maneuvers.
The syllabus includes personal safety, introduction to slipping and coming alongside, sailing theory, yacht handling under sail and basic safety at water bodies.
By the end of the course you will have a basic understanding of yacht handling under sail as well as the relevant background knowledge.
Boat rules:

Safety comes first. Care for your own safety all the time.

No shouting in the boat, keep calm and boat.

We don’t offer help unless we are asked for it.

Do not hesitate to ask for help.

Always follow the commands of the course instructor / skipper

Please understand that the course is given to share an experience and form a community. It is not at all a commercial project, and all the excess money shall be spent on the further developments of the course and providing better opportunity for others and potentially yourselves for future courses.

The instructor does not profit from providing this course. Level your expectations as if you are joining a community rather than participating in a commercial course.

Keep the cockpit always clean and empty. No food or other equipment shall be laying around.

Activity of the day does not finish until the boat is fully clean and put in bed properly. Proactivity is appreciated.

Beds are double beds in the aft and will be shared with another traveler.
The cost of the training is 390 EUR.
Included: boat rental costs, marina costs, boat insurance with self risk of 1000 EUR
Excluded: food, drink, RYA booklets
