May 2014 - "5 Things To Know That Will Make You A Better WordPress Developer"

Details
Okay, no more messin' around! For the May meetup HWWP is not holding back as we unleash the unbridled fury of Alex Vasquez (http://digisavvy.com/)!!! That's right, the Alex Vasquez of DigiSavvy will be arriving in all his glory to deliver a message that previously could only be read on two stone tablets that Moses brought down from Mount Sinai... Okay, well maybe not mount Sinai, but they were stone tablets... Okay, well maybe not stone tablets... But it will be a content rich message about website development using WordPress, so don't miss this next HWWP meetup!
"5 Things To Know That Will Make You A Better WordPress Developer" - Alex Vasquez
If you don't know who Alex Vasquez is then shame on you. No, seriously though. he is a developer that has earned his street cred. For one thing he is the organizer for Pasadena WordPress Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/wordpress-pasadena/), as well as co-organizer of WordCamp L.A. ... You can learn more about Alex and his work at http://digisavvy.com/. In the May edition of HWWP Alex will share 5 things (and maybe a few more than that) that will help you improve as a WordPress developer!
... Also I Greg Douglas will speak for about 10 minutes or so at the beginning about "Staying Sane As A WordPress Freelancer" as a part of my ongoing series.
Looking forward to seeing you all there on Tuesday, May 6th!
Cheers, Greg

Parking and Location
There is limited street parking available in the area, but it can be sparse and tough to get. A parking garage is available next door, underneath the CVS, LA Fitness and other shops for $8. You maybe be able to get a little discount on that parking by buying something in CVS and getting validated.
We know that's a steep price for parking, but the good news is that the venue is also located on the #2 bus line and just a couple of blocks from the Hollywood/Highland metro stop. If you live near the Metro, it would be a cinch to hop on board to the Hollywood/Highland red line stop. Don't forget that MTA also has lots of park and ride lots all over LA, so even if you don't live near a Metro stop, you could drive to a park and ride lot (many offer free parking), then ride to the meetup.
