Rated as an easy hike/walk. This is family and pet friendly.

Hike Overview: Grafton Lakes State Park to Dickinson Hill Fire Tower

Trail Type: Out-and-back
Distance: Approximately 3.1 miles round trip
Elevation Gain: About 257 feet
Difficulty: Easy to moderate
Estimated Time: 1 to 1.5 hours

Directions to the Trailhead

Start at Grafton Lakes State Park:
Address: 254 Grafton Lakes State Park Way, Cropseyville, NY 12052
Proceed to North Long Pond Road:
From the park entrance, head north on Long Pond Road.
Continue onto North Long Pond Road, a seasonal dirt road.
Locate the Trailhead:
Look for a parking area near the trailhead, which is marked by a sign indicating the Fire Tower Trail.

Note: Parking is limited; arrive early to secure a spot.

fire Tower Hike-

After approximately 1.2 miles, we will reach a service road gate.
From the gate, it's a final 750-foot ascent to the fire tower.

At the Summit

Dickinson Hill Fire Tower:
A 60-foot steel structure built in 1924.
Offers panoramic STUNNING views of the Adirondack Mountains, Green Mountains of Vermont, Taconic Range, and Helderberg Mountains.
