• What we'll do
Details This is a 2-day hackathon event for data scientists, software engineers, business users and designers like you to compete against each other to conceive, build and fully utilize the power of machine learning to derive from the given data and construct a viable prototype with the potential to change industries forever!
Gigabytes of real life data will be available for participants to play with.

Theme
In this hackathon, you will be playing with A.S. Watson's data and try to solve a real life business problem.
These data would be clean and anonymized data from the retail industry including product transactions, customer loyalty data, store data, purchase behaviour and historical patterns from A.S. Watson's sales to create innovative solution that the company could apply to different branches of their business.

How Do You Fit In? DATA SCIENTISTS
For your role, a thorough understanding of machine learning development cycle and using the right tools will be vital to the success of a team during this hackathon. Your knowledge on techniques such as features selection, statistical analysis and model selection will be critical in every stage of the hackathon.

BUSINESS USERS
Using your domain knowledge to assist the team. You will be providing the knowledge of how the case study can be solved using traditional methods. Most importantly, you will let your team know whether the prototype will be useful in real life.

UI/UX DESIGNERS + SOFTWARE ENGINEERS
Your role is to make the data scientist and business users' vision turn into reality. After the modelling, we need you to show off what the models could do and how to integrate it into A.S. Watson's business.
