Hong Kong Internet of Things Alliance** (HKIOTA) is an officially registered non-profit organization providing a platform for the Internet of Things (IoT) - related business to work together to facilitate the industry development and growth, promoting IoT as a tool for Smart City, and providing and facilitating ideas and cultural exchange among individuals and organizations from both private and public sectors.

**Formerly known as Hong Kong Internet of Things Association registered in 2013 and approved in 2014 under the Societies Ordinance (reg. 0051301). To avoid confusion with a private company limited by shares who changed their english name to the same name in 2016, the group has incorporated the non-profit as a limited by guarantee under the new name in 2016.
