Back to online Meetups on Zoom for the foreseeable future in Hong Kong. No one is willing to spend some time in Penny's Bay if it can be avoided.

Talk 1: Machine learning summary in 30 minutes

Speaker: Richard Xu

Abstract: "Posterior inference", "conjugate functions", "neural tangent kernels"... We are overwhelmed by the growing number of buzzwords we see in the academic machine learning literature. In this talk, I am tasked with a challenge to try to summarize all the common and niche topics (that I am familiar with) in 30 minutes, hopefully to provide some clarity to audience.

Talk 2: On-chain data: The essential dataset to evaluate bitcoin

Speaker: Benjamin Brannan

Abstract: On-chain data comes from a public ledger system that allows people to look into all transactions that are recorded onto it. More specifically, it involves looking at transaction data and crypto wallet balances. I'll introduce some meaningful on-chain metrics.

N.B. This talk is not directly about Machine Learning but presents some 'features' which may be useful for some cool side projects using ML (say systematic trading of cryptos).
