Visit the HK Heritage Museum

Details

Summertime is all about fun. I thought it would be a good idea to catch up on our museum visits while the weather is hot and rainy. I had a chance to visit the Hong Kong Heritage Museum the other day, and I'm excited to say that there are several exhibits worthy of a visit.

The first is more "traditional" for HK Sacred Spaces; the "Buddhist Pilgrimage: Treasures from the Donation of The Tsui Art Foundation" exhibit highlights treasures from the Tsui Art Foundation. Some of you might not know, but the Tsui Art Foundation is one of the art collections that actively collects Chinese Art that would have otherwise been in danger. Having this collection in Hong Kong and with such easy access is one of the real pleasures of living and working here.

The second is a more summertime exhibit, the "Hong Kong Pop 60+," which is now a permanent exhibit at the museum and highlights some of the most fascinating facts about Hong Kong "Canto" pop culture. It does this by tying together music, movies, and TV. Putting together an incredible array of information and artifacts from HK's pop culture past.

We'll meet at the Che Kong MTR station at 3:00 PM and walk over to the museum (5-7 mins.). The museum is free, but unfortunately, there are no English-language tours. There are, however, plenty of English-language onsite material and exhibit catalogs if you're interested.

Why not come along this Saturday for an interesting (and fun) afternoon!
