CLP Hosted Architectural Design and Conservation Work of the CLP Clock Tower

Details

I would imagine that many of you who have traveled cross Kowloon on either Argyle or Waterloo Roads would have seen an older building with a very familiar logo on it: CLP. CLP of course stands for China Light, and Power LTD, and is one of the oldest electricity providers in China (the oldest being Hong Kong Electric). HK Sacred Spaces visited CLP headquarters several years ago to visit their famed archives and it was there that the guides mentioned their new heritage project CLPulse which includes the old Kowloon Power generation building on Argyle Street. Fast forward to today and we're finally getting a chance to visit and explore the new facilities!

The first visit will be a 45 minute architectural tour of the old power station including the iconic clocktower. Further visits will include the Kadoorie family archive and other important heritage projects that they have ongoing.

This event is free but will be restricted to Hong Kong Sacred Spaces Society members. Society Membership is separate from the meetup group and requires a small annual membership fee of $100. Membership will also give access to all members-only events that are free and "at-cost" prices for venues that require an entrance fee. The fee can be handled on the day of the event. If you are a returning member, I'll have the membership list with me to confirm and extend your membership for another year. Thank you as always for your support!

Having said all that let me know if you have any questions by DM'ing me here and I look forward to seeing you all at this event.
