Save the Date: Visit the Gu Wei Museum

Often, we here at Hong Kong Sacred Spaces visit places that are off the beaten track. These are places usually not promoted in official tourism guides. The Gu Wei Museum is one such place.

Tucked away in the Wang Chuk Hang neighborhood, this private museum could easily be mistaken for an office or residential location. It is, however, one of the small private museums that make the cultural space in Hong Kong so unique. Hong Kong Sacred Spaces Society members will be given a unique opportunity to view their exhibit featuring pieces from the Wanli Shipwreck and receive an English-language tour from the exhibit's curators.

This event is for Hong Kong Sacred Spaces Society members only. Society membership is separate from this meetup group and requires a quick sign-up before attending the event. Society membership entitles you to visit events such as this free or at cost. Fees are set by the venue, and in this case, the museum is offering us a private tour and a tea set for $100 HKD, payable on the day of the event. (LCSD museum pass, then the entrance to the museum is waived, and pay only the tea set HK$60) It is not required that you stay for tea, but you will still need to pay the museum's entrance fee of $100. This is the second in what I hope will be several new Society events, so if you're not a member of Hong Kong Sacred Spaces Society, you'll need to pay our annual fee of $100, which will entitle you to all Society events.
