There are temples located in various places throughout Hong Kong. Understandably, some of the older neighborhoods. Some are in the rural areas of the New Territories. Some, however, in where you least expect them. This is certainly true for the Tin Hau Temple near Hang Hau MTR in the village of Tin Ha Wan - 田下灣村 in the Tseung Kwan O area of Hong Kong.

Believe it or not, long before reclamation and the name Tseung Kwan O, the Tin Hau Temple had stood since the 1840s in a then-prosperous village. The iron-cast bell, marking the foundation of the temple, is of most importance, but you'll also see the hallmarks of many of the local temples built in Tin Hau's honor. (click here for details)

We'll spend a few hours checking out the Tin Hau temple, snapping photos, and enjoying the Sunday morning. If we have time, we'll visit the King Lam Kwun Yam Temple on the northern side of TKO.

Why not come along? It will be a lot of fun.
