The Great Gearville Grand Prix at One-Shot Saturday (tabletop RPGs)

Details
We have 5 games this weekend, so one table will going over to Pacific Coffee next door.
The Great Gearville Grand Prix
Every year, the happy town of Gearville hosts its famous Grand Prix, a wild and wacky motor race open to all comers, be they human, animal or robot! This year, you have formed a team – and built a one-of-a-kind vehicle – to race for glory, friendship, and the coveted Golden Spark Plug trophy. An adventure for Gearhearts, a simple system based on Lasers & Feelings.
The Eternal Grind Cafe
Your hubris has angered the gods, and to teach you a lesson in humility, you have been sent to hell! Hell turns out to be a minimum wage job in a tip-based industry. In your own universe you might have been a hero, a demigod, or a villain, but here you are but a lowly barista of the Eternal Grind Café– and the breakfast rush is coming.
Hammerheads and the Swarm of Dzhigit
Priority Briefing: The town of Dzhigit is reporting a massive swarm of unusual insects. The swarm has devastated the fields and is threatening to engulf the town. The carrier Timely Deliverance has been diverted but we need a Hammerhead team on the ground now. Gear up and get going!
R'lyehwatch
Sunset Hills, California: a beach town where the sunny days are almost as hot as the locals. Unfortunately for the locals, their town happens to be situated near the underwater resting place of various elder gods whose nightmarish dreams draw in monsters and other supernatural forces. Thankfully, the bay and beaches of Sunset Hills are protected by a patrol of lifeguards willing to battle the monstrous forces that would take over the world. Save drowning beach-goers, seal away gods of the depths, and look fabulous running in slow motion.
Cracker Barrel Has Fallen
You all, the employees and patrons of your town’s Waffle House, are the last line of defense before this zombie horde fully takes over your town. “I take no pleasure in reporting that Cracker Barrel has fallen,” you hear from your general manager over the old, hand-crank radio. You knew this was coming. First it was Zaxby’s, then Bojangles, and now Cracker Barrel. This zombie horde will stop at nothing. “The National Guard can evacuate you, but they can’t get there for 6 more hours. Hold down the fort until then, don’t let anyone leave, and I’ll see you under the yellow sign.” The radio goes silent.

WHAT IS ONE-SHOT SATURDAY?
It's a weekly meet-up in Sheung Wan/Central, focusing on indie games and single-session games (one-shots). 而家所有游戏係英文嘅但如果你要嚟玩中文游戏,我哋會無任歡迎。只要湊啱玩家就行!
You can drop in and play at any One-Shot Saturday – you do not need to have played in a previous session or commit to playing again. Whether you've played an RPG before or not, you're welcome to join us.
Please arrive on time as once the games begin it becomes difficult to properly introduce latecomers.
Join the conversation, make plans, suggest games to play, etc. —

WHAT IS A TABLETOP RPG?
It's a game in which you never know where the next stop will be, because it’s all down to the decisions you and your fellow players make. Usually one person is the Game Master (or "GM"). Everyone else will be players, taking the role of the characters in the game. The players get to say what their characters say, think, and do. The GM describes everything else in the world.
Then... we play to find out what happens. The game is a conversation: I say something, then you reply, maybe someone else chimes in. We talk about what's happening to the characters we imagine and the world around them. We also talk about the rules, which help us decide what happens next if the next step is in doubt. The rules differ from game to game: some use dice to shape the story, others use cards or something else. It's always a conversation, though.

Every week on Saturday until January 1, 2026
