Wilderness of Mirrors lets you play a role in an elite team of secret agents tasked with a dangerous mission. First, we carefully plan how to pull it off, then we play it out to discover how brilliantly (or disastrously!) it unfolds. The more detailed and ambitious your plan, the more you risk complicating things for yourselves. Oh, and did we mention someone might be a traitor? Find out what blows up in a game of espionage, intrigue, and self-inflicted chaos.

Church of the Maw
Deep in the rural nowhere of North Carolina sits Devil King Hills, home of the highest rate of missing persons cases in the state. Somewhere in its suburbs lies the Church of the Maw, the last remnants of now-extinct Cult of the Maw that was supposed to have been eradicated decades ago. But the Bureau is pretty sure that they're trying to summon something sinister and eldritch. When an agent goes missing, your team is sent on a mission to either retrieve your colleague or wipe the Church out once and for all.

The Laughing Idol of Lar-Shann For centuries the remote village of Pumriel has suffered the tyranny of the demon Lar-Shann, his bellowing idol and his power-mad acolytes. Now you are sent to Pumriel to retrieve a priceless bottle of locally-made brandy, but to find it you will have to venture into the demon's fortress-temple... A pulp-fantasy adventure using the Doomslakers system

The Allwinter Run
All is snow and quiet and spring has not come. For the animals of Dashen Forest, they awaken from hibernation to find no new growth, only ice. They cannot stay here. A game of Briar and Bramble, in which we find out if these critters can survive the elements and each other as they travel to a new home in a fantasy world.

You can drop in and play at any One-Shot Saturday – you do not need to have played in a previous session or commit to playing again. Whether you've played an RPG before or not, you're welcome to join us.

Please arrive on time as once the games begin it becomes difficult to properly introduce latecomers.

WHAT IS A TABLETOP RPG?

It's a game in which you never know where the next stop will be, because it’s all down to the decisions you and your fellow players make. Usually one person is the Game Master (or "GM"). Everyone else will be players, taking the role of the characters in the game. The players get to say what their characters say, think, and do. The GM describes everything else in the world.

Then... we play to find out what happens. The game is a conversation: I say something, then you reply, maybe someone else chimes in. We talk about what's happening to the characters we imagine and the world around them. We also talk about the rules, which help us decide what happens next if the next step is in doubt. The rules differ from game to game: some use dice to shape the story, others use cards or something else. It's always a conversation, though.
