Welcome to the Honolulu Essay Club – a small, intimate group for intellectually curious minds in Oahu. Each month, we'll select a classic essay, all readable in well under an hour, and gather to dissect it through fresh lenses: How does it reshape your ideas? Impact your family life? Influence our Hawaii community? And echo across the planet?
We value respectful, impartial dialogue with intellectual honesty – steelmanning opposing views to foster real growth, even on essays that clash with your worldview. Meetings are Fridays at 3pm, lasting just an hour, perfect for wrapping up the week with stimulating discussion. We'll keep the discussions small, breaking up into groups of 3-5 no matter how many attendees join us.
