Rest and Renew in this Half Day Meditation Retreat as we welcome 2026 with brightness. Cultivate peace and clarity with like-minded individuals.

Date: Saturday, Jan 10th from 9:30am-1pm

Place: Chateau Waikiki (5th floor Conference Room) - 411 Hobron Lane

Activities: Mindful movement, intro to meditation. guided meditation, wisdom and Q&A. Potluck lunch to follow.

9:10-9:30am - Arrival
9:30-9:40am - Greetings & Welcome
9:40-10:05am - Mindful Movement/qigong with Lar (courtyard)
10:05-10:20am - Break
10:20-12pm - Intro to Meditation, Guided Meditation & Wisdom, Q&A
12-1pm - Potluck Lunch

Ideal for beginners and experienced practitioners.

Capacity limit of 15 participants. Organizers will inform you if capacity is reached.

Movement instructor:
Lar Nimit is the founder and director of a non-profit organization, the Meditation Center of Alabama. She has over 25 years of meditation experience. Lar holds a Master's degree in Economics. She is a certified Mindfulness & Meditation Instructor and Qigong coach, with extensive training in energy and holistic healing. Lar is dedicated to sharing inner peace and well-being through meditation and envisions creating a community retreat center that offers a sanctuary for peace, clarity, and spiritual connection.

Meditation Instructor:
Nena Nimit, M.D. is a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. She helped to cofound and run a non-profit organization, the Meditation Center of Alabama along with the University of South Alabama Mindfulness & Meditation Club. Nena is a certified Meditation & Mindfulness Trainer from World Peace Initiative. She believes that sustainable world peace can be achieved when each individual person is able to achieve their own personal peace and balance. Nena wishes to share inner peace and happiness throughout the community.
