What we’re about
If you’ve been in book clubs you know how stressful and maddening they can be. People don’t read. Or they don’t read well. Or you hurry to get the reading done and don’t get to enjoy the book. Or someone always picks that super-long book about the economic history of some country you’ve never heard of.
Silent book clubs take this bother away: just show up, say hi (or not!), have a drink (or not!), and read whatever you brought!

Happy 10th Birthday Silent Book Club!
BeerLab Hawaii, 1318 S. Beretania St., Honolulu, HI, USHonolulu Silent Book Club is honored to participate in Silent Book Club's 10th Anniversary Global Readathon.
It will be like our monthly Kahala Mall meetup (which is still happening -- the day before this one!), but with beer, wine, hard seltzer, non-alcoholic kombucha, and a potluck.

BeerLab HI at Beretania allows outside food, but not outside drink. So please sign up to share a dish, but purchase something to drink if you can. We want you there whether you can contribute to the potluck or not!
You know how it is in Hawaii. There's always too much food. And if there isn't enough, we can just get something from BeerLab, or run to Times Supermarket next door.
Bring something to read, as we will have our usual hour of quiet reading. Physical books, ebooks, audiobooks, textbooks, comic books, or whatever!
It would be good to know who's coming and what they're bringing (help your organizer out with good communication!), so please, in addition to RSVPing on this page, send me a DM here or on any of our other channels if you're going to make it, and whether or not you can bring something to share. Thank you!
Parking: Street parking is free after 6. If you come early enough, you can park in the tiny lot in front (see photo). I know people who always get away with parking in the Times lot, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!

Proof Readers Book Club at Proof Social Club
Proof Social Club, 1154 Fort Street Mall #10, Honolulu, HI, USWe are once again collaborating with Proof Social Club, a bar in Downtown Honolulu where Chaplain Lane meets Fort Street Mall!
Proof says:

We'll have a book exchange table! Bring a few, take a few, or whatever. No rules. I'd rather you take your unclaimed books with you when you go, but if you leave them, I'll be happy to take them to the Little Free Library at Maikiki District Park.
Proof also has its own library, so take a look for something good there, too!
Good drinks (including nice mocktails) and good, mellow vibes. The mood is as chill as it gets.
Pasta Boys will MAY be there, (click link to see sample menu), so you might enjoy a nice plate of freshly made pasta to go with your book! Keep an eye on our channels to see if they're serving that night. If they aren't, you're welcome to bring in food from somewhere else.
