Recognizing & Responding to Coercive Control – Vesta's Lexington/ Winchester, MA
Details
Learn how Massachusetts’ new coercive control law impacts divorce and how to protect yourself with the right knowledge and support.
About this Event:
On September 18, 2024, Massachusetts expanded its definition of “abuse” under Chapter 209A restraining orders to include coercive control. This landmark change recognizes a wide range of non-physical abuse—such as financial control, isolation from loved ones, and psychological intimidation—that can deeply impact autonomy, safety, and the divorce process.
This confidential webinar, hosted by Vesta’s Lexington/ Winchester, MA Hub, will explain what this law means in practice and how it may affect divorce proceedings, custody decisions, and requests for protection. Our panel of legal experts, financial specialists, and other divorce professionals will also share strategies to ensure you have the right emotional, financial, and legal support.
