German Conversation Table

This weekly 3-hour community program goes beyond traditional language instruction. It creates a structured, welcoming space where participants practice spoken German through facilitated conversation, meaningful cultural exchange, and shared experiential activities.
The program is open & free!
It is designed to
- Strengthen spoken German language skills in an informal, participatory setting
- Build social cohesion and intercultural understanding
- Support the integration and civic participation of internationals and newcomers
No grammar drilling, no textbook dialogues. Just talking in a relaxed room with people learning right alongside you.
Guided spoken German in pairs and small groups, with thematic prompts chosen to reflect everyday life in Hamburg. This will be followed by a facilitated group discussion on cultural, civic, or social topics, where participants share perspectives from different backgrounds. We will also explore a shared activity (games, creative tasks, guest input, skill sharing) that reinforces language use in a relaxed, participatory context.
