9.00 Start. Ride on the Downs Link, the Surrey Hills and leafy Surrey lanes
Details
- 40 miles loop , taken at a pace that allows conversation and enjoyment of the summer countryside.
- Leaving the Horsham Pavilions at 09.00 am we head into Surrey following the Downs Link (a well-surfaced traffic free path, on the track bed of a former railway) and the Wey and Arun Canal towards Shamley Green.
- After a lunch stop at the red Lion or the Forge on The Green cafe, we will head to Blackheath Common in the Surrey Hills and come back via leafy lanes back to our start point.
- Mixed terrain suitable for most tyres but not skinny road tyres
- Difficulty : Intermediate , some hills and off road gravel / sand in places
