Shoreham Beach Summer Ride

A 45 mile, medium rated ride, partly off-road ride to Shoreham Beach. We will go out on the Pedlars Way, through the Knepp Estate and return on the Downslink. This ride is suitable for mountain bikes, hybrids and tourers.
There is an alternative start point at the junction of Worthing Road and Shipley Road in Southwater at 10.30am. Please add a comment on meet-up if you intend to start at Southwater.
Although the ride is fairly flat, this will be a tiring day particularly if it is hot.
For lunch, please bring a picnic or you can visit a pizza takeaway or coffee shop for sandwiches at the beach.
There is a water tap to refill bottles.
Swimming costumes are optional.
PLEASE BRING A HAT TO WEAR AT THE BEACH. CYCLING FOLLOWED BY SITTING ON THE BEACH WHEN THE SUN IS HIGH , THEN MORE CYCLING IS LIKELY TO CAUSE SUNSTROKE IF YOU ARE NOT PROPERLY PROTECTED.
