Ginny and Don Robertson are excited and happy to announce this rare opportunity to get to know Dan Navarro and enjoy his wonderful music in an intimate setting – our family room. We love Dan! He’s the LA Folk/Rock troubadour who gained international notice in the 80s as lead singer/songwriter and guitarist with Lowen and Navarro, a duo that served as the opening act for many of the best-known groups at the time. You might remember their song and video “Walking On A Wire”, which got lots of airplay on MTV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xTBqEZWhGc.
Dan and singing partner Eric Lowen wrote the song “We Belong”, which became a Top-Five worldwide hit for Pat Benatar. Dan’s songs have been covered by groups as diverse as the Bangles, Dave Edmunds, Jackson Browne, The Temptations, Dionne Warwick, The Triplets, Dutch star Marco Borsato, and Austin outlaw legend Rusty Weir.
Eric Lowen died in 2012 after a long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Dan continued on writing and performing and, for more than 20 years, has toured to a fiercely loyal, energetic national audience.
His solo performances are marked by the same hallmarks as his work with Lowen & Navarro — songs of rich insight and experience, delivered straight-up, with honesty, grace, and heart, in his moving and expressive baritone voice. Listen to Dan’s beautiful song “I Don't Believe In Yesterday" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZSqTxyum70 ,
and to "Shed My Skin", which is from Dan’s newest album https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2U1WkJBzZc
The event will start at 3:00 and we'll connect and nosh on some vegan snacks until around 3:30 when the concert will start. We should be wrapped up before 6:00. Hope to see you there!
