DOG WALK - HERMANN PARK TRAILS 3-4 Miles

WHAT: Fun dog walk in mostly shaded parts of Hermann Park. We will walk along the Marvin Taylor Trail (gravel) and other trails (paved) within the park. Approximately 3-4 miles.
PARK: Park in Lot C located on Hermann Dr. (Crawford St. Entrance)
MEETING TIME & PLACE: arrive at 8:00 am . Meet in front of the McGovern Centennial Gardens, start walking at 8:15 am.
PACE: Slow enough to take advantage of all the beautiful scenery! Approx. 2.5 MPH
BRING FOR YOU: Water, sun-block, a hat, sunglasses and some trail snacks (if you want).
BRING FOR YOUR DOG: Water, collapsible bowl, doggy snacks (if desired) poop bags, and your dog’s leash.
PET RULES: Pets must be on a 6 foot or shorter leash at all times. Please pick up after your pet. Yield to joggers and bicyclists.

HOUSTON ACTIVE DOGS: Our organizers are here to create fun events/walks/hikes for you and your dog(s). We are not responsible for the risks associated with walking/hiking. Please make sure your fitness level, and that of your dog, are compatible to walk/hike the distance listed.
HEAT PRECAUTIONS: Typical Houston weather this weekend. Our hike will begin in the 70's and temps will rise to upper 80's. Please consider your and your dog's heat tolerance. Make sure to start the day well hydrated and bring enough water for you and your doggy :) If for any reason you feel that you cannot complete the whole walk/hike, no problem! Just let the leader know and return to your car.
