• What we'll do
It's been a long time since we met, so we will talk about developer tools and infrastructure, and some rapid app development tools as we approach the Houston Hackathon on May 19.

Newbies should bring a laptop (or you can watch and share) and we will get you going on installing Android Studio. With luck, everyone should be able to get to a simple app running on a phone. The Android tools are always changing and updating, and there is some "little" error coming up in the build system all the time. We will show you how to sort through those things so you don't get stuck.

I can also show how simple it is to get a basic app going with React Native and the Expo app infrastructure. It is the gateway for front end developers to expand to mobile apps.

I'll also have some equipment so people can show off anything they've been working on as a show and tell.

Street parking is free downtown after 6pm. Press the buzzer and tell security you are going to Station Houston on the 24th floor. We are in a room with 15 seats, so if we have a crowd, you may be standing. First come, first seated.
