Spring Creek Burroughs Park 8.7 Miles

Details
The Hike:
Burroughs park is the western terminus of the nearly completed Spring Creek hike and bike corridor. When completed the path will go from here to Lake Houston in Kingwood.
This relatively small park is a warren of trails. We go up and down through the ball fields, lake day use area and woods along Spring Creek.
About HATs and our hikes:
https://www.hatsandmore.org/
HATs organizers are not guides nor do we have any special training. We are here to come up with hiking ideas and get the hike started. Expect the same risks and take the same precautions you would if hiking alone, including the fitness level to make long hikes. Then enjoy the hike among friends.
We hike about 3 MPH. This is faster than many walking groups.
Hike Safety:
Make sure to dress for the weather. If you don’t feel well or can’t keep up. Tell someone right away and stop walking so it doesn’t become something serious.
Speak to someone immediately or contact the hike leader. We can help you off the trail.
Start the day well hydrated and bring at least a third more water than you carry in cooler weather.
Gathering Place:
9738 Hufsmith Rd, Tomball, TX 77375
Meet by the bathrooms in the ball fields parking area near the entrance.
Tom: 832-4739-5797
What to You Need:
Bring sunscreen, mosquito repellent, supportive sports shoes, water, snacks and a hat.
The Trail:
This is the typically sandy soils of East Texas and the Katy Prairie. After a heavy rain, some places will have standing water. We typically walk through this if it is not deep.
