Come join Houston Art Walks for an afternoon of art, conversation, and a chance to hear directly from an artist about her work!
Angela Fraleigh will be at Inman Gallery for an artist talk with Michelle White, Senior Curator at the Menil Collection, discussing Fraleigh’s new exhibition, I Have Decided Not to Be Hungry.
Fraleigh’s paintings are full of wild, dreamlike imagery—maenads, witches, animals, fire, and figures that seem to appear and disappear through layers of lush paint. The work explores desire, instinct, transformation, and what happens when the familiar starts to become something a little more… feral.
The exhibition also draws inspiration from works in Houston’s Museum of Fine Arts and Menil Collection, creating a fun connection between Fraleigh’s paintings and some of the incredible art already found here in Houston.
