Marvelyn Granger has transitioned from maintaining a rooftop garden and landscaping in a city homeowners' association to restoring native prairies in the countryside. An increasing number of people are moving to rural areas, whether for weekend getaways, raising children away from the city, or retirement. Although the reasons for this shift vary, the commitment to responsible land management remains consistent.
It's essential to learn more to improve our stewardship for sustainability, but this journey can often be indirect, and the learning curve may feel steep. Marvelyn will provide invaluable resources to help us understand our responsibilities while also finding motivation, educational support, and community.

Marvelyn Granger and her family are dedicated to restoring their native habitat on Nellie Gail Ranch in Austin County. As Vice President of the NPAT-Fayette Prairie Chapter, she combines her passion for protecting natural resources with a commitment to lifelong learning. Drawing on her experience in project management, business development, nonprofit organizational management, and continuing education, she thrives on developing educational content that informs, encourages, and empowers her community to understand the importance and benefits of restoring Texas prairies to their native state.

Before swapping her high heels for work boots, Marvelyn enjoyed sharing travel, sports, and a love for life outdoors with her husband, Trey, and their three children in various suburban and Midtown areas of Texas and California. Now, she delights in sharing Nellie Gail Ranch and a lifestyle that often feels like summer camp with four generations of her family.
