What we’re about
Houston has plenty of things to do but not every meetup group nor everyone in general is aware of what there is to do. I have decided to change this group to include all surrounding areas in Houston. I’d like to find some additional people who don’t mind arranging and hosting activities to keep the group going. The idea is if you want to do something and would like some fun socialites to appreciate your interest, create the event. Please email me if this is you!
Remember no idea is impossible whether it is theater, restaurants, travel, bars, fundraisers, biking, hiking, walks, runs, or anything else you can think of as long as we have 3 there is an event! Please feel free to reach out to me if you are curious about something and just want to confirm.
The purpose here is to get out of your home and enjoy something exciting and an interest you have while you live and breathe here in Houston. It is not that you need to attend every meetup but that we all have the choice or choices to attend, enjoy, and share others interests. If you live in or around the meetup function we would love to see you there or even host the event!
I look forward to seeing new people at these events and hope that we all consider this meetup a great way to experience Houston while meeting new and interesting people!!

Hi Gang,
Mensa is hosting its annual gathering in Chicago, IL from July 2nd to July 6th, 2025.
You do not have to be a member to go (you can go as a guest of mine). The cost for non-members will be around $325 for all four days. Children 20 and under will likely be around $265.
Here is the link for the event. (NOTE: The rate goes up progressively between now and the actual date).
http://ag.us.mensa.org/If you are a non-member, and want to go, just let me know and I will add you to the list of attendeesAttendances typically range from 1,500 - 3,000 people each year .
If you are interested in going, let me know and we can coordinate.
Essentially, the fees cover most of the meals and all the lectures (excluding the dinner symposium).
If you have kids, there is a kids section which is geared towards 4 - 12 year olds (and broken up into age groups within that range so your child will be with age appropriate kids).
The lectures for kids and adults are all unique and educational in there own way...exploring topics such as Science, Politics, Ethnicity/Gender, UFOs, History, Manufactoring, and more....there are literally over a hundred lectures to choose from and a unique experience.
From our experience last year, the age range runs the gamut of adults between the ages of 25 - 65.
We will meet in the breakfast food court area each morning at 8:30am and go from there.
Let me know if you want to go and hope to see you there,
James
