Reading: Aristotle, Politics, Book III
Chapters 4-10

In August, we began our discussion of Book III with the first three chapters, where Aristotle asks 'who is a citizen?' We will pick up in September with Chapter 4, whether the virtue of the good is the same as the good man, Chapter 5, whether 'people in the mechanical crafts' should be considered citizens, Chapter 6, what are the forms of government and which ones 'are right according to simple justice' , Chapter 7, further discussion of the legitimate and illegitimate form, and Chapters 8-10, where these differences are examined in greater depth.
