Join us December 18 for a discussion of Aristotle's Politics
Details
Aristotle, Politics Book III
Chapters 16-18
The excellent November meeting covered chapter 11, whether 'the multitude' should be in authority and to what extend can we depend on 'the wisdom of crowds', chapter 12, about the crucial connection between the highest political good, justice, the common advantage and 'equality', chapter 13, about the justice of various groups in their title to rule, chapter 15, about the varieties of kingship, and chapter 15, about wheter it is desireable to have one person in authority over all things.
For December, we will discuss the last three chapters and, I hope, have some time at the end to look back over the whole of Book III and talk about where Aristotle has taken us. I think there is a great deal there.
RSVPs will receive directions to the meeting location in Rice Village. And for all interested, there is the option of dinner together afterwards.
