World Cup Fan Festival

The FIFA World Cup quarter finals will be July 11th and it would be a good time to check out the FIFA Fan Festival (weather pending). No ticket is needed. There are two matches that day that will be shown on the large TVs, as well as vendors, food, etc. The festival will close around 10:00 PM.

There is plenty of paid parking in the immediate vicinity of the fan fest. There is also street parking on the streets that are not blocked off as well, you just have to be aware of signage. As for weather it can still be very hot even in the evening so dress appropriately. FIFA also has free water dispensers there that you can use to fill up clear water bottles only. There are also many vendors you can buy drinks and food from. Plenty of mist machines on site to keep cool. In case of inclement weather, they will let us know a few hours ahead of time if there is a cancellation (but hopefully the weather is good and that is not a factor). Lastly the meeting place will be the entrance of the fan fest directly across from Shell Energy Stadium on Walker Street at 6:45pm and we will head in at 7:00pm. There is another entrance on Polk St. and if you come through that one you can still meet everyone inside. Just post a comment if you need the group’s location.
