After months of waiting, the Speaker of the House and Lt. Governor have both released their “interim legislative charges” - issue areas they have asked legislative committees to assess for potential recommendations. There's a lot to talk about, so here is a blog about it:
Texas Legislature Heats Up with New Charges and Upcoming Hearings | Sierra ClubLong story short, there are some really important issues being discussed ahead of the 90th Legislative Session. And, while we don't officially gavel in until January, it's vital that the Sierra Club and our members and supporters get involved now to build momentum.
We want to hear your thoughts, and strategize together about how we can center affordable, reliable, clean energy, intelligent water usage, and protect the state's environment in the public conversation. These are the issues that matter to Texans, and we have to make sure they are on the table.
