This is the Water for People & Environment Committee's meeting for all Texans interested in water issues, advocacy, organizing and networking.

For our August 11 meeting, we'll have Dr. Erin Kinney from the
Houston Advanced Research Center, and her presentation will be titled "Water and Data Centers in Texas".

As Texas faces ongoing water scarcity, proposals for AI data centers across the state are raising important questions. How much water do these facilities actually use? Why is water needed to support digital infrastructure? And what are the trade-offs in a state already stretched thin on supply? This webinar will focus on the water footprint of AI datacenters: what is known, what is not, and what it means for communities, ecosystems, and the future of our water.

Agenda:
1. H2O Highlights: Recent developments in the water world
2. AI Datacenter use of water overview with Dr. Erin Kinney of HARC (Houston Advanced Research Center)
3. Questions & Answers

Purpose: To enhance local and statewide water advocacy efforts and empower Texas residents to advocate for water in their communities.
- Active statewide collaborative network of water advocates
- Increased public awareness of water issues across the state
- Increased engagement in water advocacy among Texas residents
- Transformative policy impact
