Sierra Club Visits the Lone Star Flight Museum at Ellington Airport in August

On Saturday, August 9, 2025, 10 am, join the Houston Sierra Club on an outing to the Lone Star Fight Museum (LSFM) at Ellington Airport in southeast Houston. We’ll beat the heat and tour Houston’s flight history. After we finish, we’ll visit a nearby restaurant for lunch. The cost to tour the LSFM is adults - $18, Seniors - $15, and for parents with youth/children, see the LSFM website for entrance costs.

If anyone has COVID symptoms or is sick don’t come! We want everyone to be safe. By going on this outing, we’ll potentially be with individuals who are vaccinated/unvaccinated. It’s each person’s choice to participate in this outing.

Bring water and your camera. Wear clothes suited for hot, humid, weather. No pets, firearms, or radios. We’ll put cell phones on vibrate and enjoy the solitude/quiet of the museum.

Directions to the LSFM, 11551 Aerospace Ave., Houston, Texas 77034 (346-708-2517), are:
1. Drive S on I-45 to Scarsdale Blvd. (FM 2553).
2. Exit I-45 and turn left (E) onto Scarsdale Blvd.
3. Drive to SH 3 (Old Galveston Road) and turn rt.
4. Drive about ½ mile to Hillard St.
5. Turn left onto Hillard St.
6. Drive to Aerospace Ave and turn left.
7. Drive until you come to LSFM.
