Harris Health has proposed condemning 8.9 acres of Hermann Park for the expansion of Ben Taub Hospital. Hermann Park Conservancy is hosting a town hall to share information about the proposal and to offer the community an opportunity to ask questions.

The meeting will include remarks from Cara Lambright, President & CEO of Hermann Park Conservancy; Dr. Esmail Porsa, President & CEO of Harris Health; and Matthew Urbanski, a partner at Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates Inc., the landscape architects responsible for Hermann Park's master plan, followed by a Q&A from the audience.

Harris County Commissioners Court will hold its Chapter 26 public hearing in January, as required before any dedicated parkland can be considered for another public use. A vote on the proposal by Harris County Commissioners is expected in March.

All are welcome to attend. The community is invited to review the proposed expansion, including FAQs about its impact on the Park, and submit advance questions for the town hall at hermannpark.org/eminentdomain.
