May 17 Program:
An Update on the En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator, and local native plant garden updates.
Christin Newell, PE, a chemical engineer who works in renewables will present on some of the new additions to En-ROADS such as flood-risk maps, species loss, ice-free arctic summers, and loss of major crops. She will go deeper into these timely scenarios since many Sierrans know En-ROADS somewhat.
En-ROADS stands for “Energy-Rapid Overview and Decision-Support.”
En-ROADS is a global climate simulator that allows users to explore the impact that dozens of policies—such as electrifying transport, pricing carbon, and improving agricultural practices—have on hundreds of factors like energy prices, temperature, air quality, and sea level rise.
