September 17 meeting program:
"On the Road for Climate Action"

Speaker: Dr. Shahir Masri
Author of Beyond Debate and his soon to be published book On the Road for Climate Action. Dr. Masri chronicles his journey across the United States, bringing you the story of climate change as experienced by the communities on the frontline of disaster. He conveys both urgency and opportunities for hope. His journey includes an in-person talk at our Bay Area Sierra Club Houston.
Dr. Masri is an air pollution scientist at the University of California at Irvine. His master’s and doctorate in environmental health are from Harvard’s School of Public Health.

Beyond Debate: Answers to 50 Misconceptions on Climate Change has been acclaimed by the late Citizens' Climate Lobby founder Marshall Saunders, among prominent scientists at MIT, UCLA, and elsewhere. He is also the author of numerous opinion articles which have been published in The Hill, the LA Times, Thrive Global, and elsewhere. Currently, he is involved in studies investigating exposure to harmful combustion-related air pollutants in the U.S. and abroad, as well as research related to harmful chemicals in food, soil, and consumer products. Dr. Masri is the first author of over a dozen peer-reviewed scientific studies that have been published in well-known academic journals.

Bay Area meetings are on 3rd Wednesday of the month and start at 6:30pm for social hour; speaker and discussion from 7-8:30 pm.
