Houston’s Unity community is coming together!
Join us for the first meeting of the official Houston Unity Meetup Group on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Reality COLLAB at Houston City College (HCC) Central Campus.

### About the Reality COLLAB

The Reality COLLAB is HCC’s immersive technology and emerging-media innovation space, bringing together Unity development, XR, AI, digital twins, spatial computing, 3D workflows, and immersive learning. It is a place where students, faculty, developers, industry partners, and the Houston community can experiment, build, and collaborate.

### What We'll Talk About

Since this is our first Meetup, we want to begin with a meet-and-greet and get to know Houston's Unity community. This first gathering will help establish the foundation for how we build, continue, and grow the group together.
We'll also dive into some technology and development topics:
Unity 7 — We'll discuss what's ahead and what the next generation of Unity could mean for developers and creators.
From FrameVR → Spatial → Unity — We'll share the evolution of the Reality COLLAB's metaverse development work and why we ultimately moved toward a Unity-first workflow.
Recreating our Spatial SDK functionality in Unity — We'll give you a look behind the scenes at how we transitioned our custom environment and functionality from Spatial and rebuilt those capabilities directly in Unity.
ArcGIS + Unity — If time permits, we'll also discuss our exploration of ArcGIS integration with Unity, including the possibilities for geospatial experiences, digital twins, and real-world immersive environments.
Most importantly, this first gathering is about community. Whether you're an experienced Unity developer, student, educator, XR creator, game developer, digital-twin specialist, or simply interested in learning Unity, we would love to have you there.
Invite other Unity developers and creators in the Houston area and help us grow the community.
We look forward to meeting everyone and beginning this next chapter together.
