HaptX Haptic Gloves Presentation and Demo by Victor O.
Details
Victor O. will be giving a presentation about the work HaptX is doing to explore what leading-edge haptic gloves are capable of in supporting VR. He'll have HaptX's latest Development Kit for attendees to try out and discuss.
I've used their gloves before, and they're incredibly ambitious. In addition to force feedback to simulate touching or holding solid objects, the gloves have a large array of microfluidic actuators embedded in them to simulate all kinds of physical touch. You can run your hands through a field of wheat in VR and feel the stalks brushing across your hands. Place a tiny fox in your palm, and you can feel it walking around. Very few companies are pushing tactile experiences for VR as far as HaptX is attempting to push them.
We'll also cover Meta Connect and the launch of the Quest 3, and other VR and AR news. Hope to see everyone there!
