Apart from design, an online shop must have several other factors to be successful. If you've been thinking about selling online, I highly recommend considering the following four points before contacting a web designer.

• What kinds of products are you going to be selling? Are they digital products...i.e., e-books? Physical Products? Your services/time? A course? A membership?
• The details of the products - Size? Weight? Dimensions? Descriptions? Product photos? Price?
• How are you going to deliver your products? If they are physical, how are you going to ship them? How much will shipping cost? If it's digital, how many times can your customer download it? Will it be a PDF? Where will it be saved?
• How are customers going to pay for their orders? Via a third-party payment portal like PayPal? Stripe? Payfast?
