Friday Night Street Soccer
Details
Join us on Friday nights at The Block Street Soccer Court in East Downtown for our Street After Dark pickup sessions. We installed portable lights that's made it possible for us to play once the sun goes down.
This court that was created as part of the Houston Town Futsal Ball-A-Block program.
Location
The Block Street Soccer Court is located at EaDog Park (across Polk St. street from 8th Wonder Brewery and behind J-Bar-M Barbecue) at 2218 Polk St.
How We Play
- King of the Court (winner stays)
- 5v5 (no goalies)
- 1st team to two goals wins (5:00 minute games if no goal scored)
- Don't be a dick (don't be the one killing the vibe)
- You shank, you shag (you kick the ball off the court then you get it)
Post-Game / True Anomaly Brewing
As our East Downtown pickup partner and helping us bring awareness to our Ball-A-Block program, we invite everyone to True Anomaly Brewing afterwards for discounted drinks and to talk the beautiful game.

- Flats (court surface is concrete)
- Water
Parking
There is parking just in front of the court. Polk St is under construction, so look for access into the lot from Emancipation St. or Bell St. Also, do not leave valuables visible in your car.

- Pickup funds go back to making improvements at The Block Street Soccer Court and raising awareness through marketing efforts
