Path:
There will be only short bits with no sidewalk. Most of the walk will look like a lot of our Heights walks; a couple blocks right next to the market may be a āneighborhood in transitionā.
I'll make sure any major street crossings are at real pedestrian crossing signals.
The decades old Caninoās produce market has been reinvented as a hip destination.
There are still lots of empty areas awaiting vendors and signs where a butcher shop and several restaurants are being built out.
Itās an educational, aromatic and eclectic destination.
We meet at the HEB 2300 N Shepherd upstairs outside on the right side doors. The Coffee shop is out of business but there's still an outdoor seating area.
We pass by the fantastic original diner soda fountain in the old Yale Pharmacy that is now an antique store. No longer a real drug store but diner is still operating the same as 100 years ago. There are vegetarian options.
We'll meet @ HEB~ make our way to the market~ spend some time wandering.~ then make our way back to HEB.
Restrooms available inside HEB prior to walk and at produce market. No restrooms or water fountains along walking path.
Wear comfortable walking shoes. Any sports-type athletic shoe will do.
Older neighborhood so may be some uneven sidewalks.
No dogs allowed on hike.
