Make a Documentary in a Day – Brighton & Hove Filmmakers

Join us for a fun, creative day of filmmaking in Brighton & Hove! Whether you’re a complete beginner or already have some experience, this is your chance to plan, shoot, and edit a short documentary — all in one day.

We’ll start with a quick intro and group brainstorm to choose story ideas, form small teams, and assign roles (filming, interviewing, editing, etc.). You’ll then head out to capture real stories around Brighton — from local causes and community projects to everyday human moments worth telling.

By the end of the day, we’ll come together to share what we’ve created, reflect on the process, and celebrate our films.

• A phone or camera for filming
• Laptop (if you’d like to help edit)
• Curiosity, creativity, and an open mind

Expect collaboration, laughter, learning, and a great sense of accomplishment.
No fancy gear or experience needed — just a passion for storytelling.
