What we’re about
We aim to practice how to be persuasive, primarily in person via nonverbal communication. Persuasion in this group means making another person feel they should commit to what you're saying and doing, regardless of what it is you are actually saying and doing.
We will regularly practice playing villains from plays and films and TV series until we can make anyone feel on an emotional level that they should believe in what the villain is saying or doing. This is because villains in stories say and do horrible things, but since they drive stories forward logically they must be very persuasive people.
This means anyone focused on persuasion should prioritize knowing all the intricacies of how villains connect with people. This group is for anyone from any walk of life who wants to be more persuasive. No acting experience required.

Persuasion Burgers
Ghost Burgers Hoxton, 134A Kingsland Road, London, E2 8DY, London, GBWe'll be looking into the monologue of a notorious movie villain, Gordon Gekko, from Wall Street (1987).
Watching the whole film beforehand or memorizing anything is NOT required. But it would be beneficial to have a digital or hard copy of the monologue, which can be found here
I'll be breaking down the speech and diving into where I've gotten to with the subtext performance-wise. This'll basically be me sharing my acting process, nothing too formal. We might even take turns reading if anyone wants to.1 attendee
