What we’re about

Learn how to go from I can't live without - to I can't live with alcohol!

How to Live Sober is a free, open discussion group for anyone who wants support in beating addiction and living alcohol-free. Through my personal journey, I’ve learned that you are not your addiction — you are separate from it. When you begin to see it as something outside of you, as a temporary state rather than a life sentence, you can take back your power. Here you’ll find real conversation, connection, and practical tools to help you live free from the control of alcohol.

I’m not a doctor or therapist. I’m just someone who struggled with alcohol, found a way out, and now live a happy, healthy, sober life. I am 5 years sober, have regained my health and purpose, and after losing my best friend to alcohol only a few months ago, I am more determined than ever to share what I’ve learned. Here, I’ll show you how I did it — and perhaps it will work for you. This is a new community, and together we’ll be learning, experimenting, and growing as we walk the path to sobriety.

My success in sobriety, and the methods you’ll learn, are based on these six core beliefs:

  1. You are stronger than your addiction. Addiction might be your current state, but it doesn’t have to be permanent. You have the power to take back control from alcohol and reclaim the happier, healthier, sober life you deserve.
  2. Recovery should be empowering. Recovery is a process of building strength, confidence, and resilience. The tools and skills you learn will not only help you overcome addiction but also prepare you to face any challenge life brings.
  3. You need a plan. Overcoming addiction requires more than willpower — it takes structure, education, and personal growth. Understanding your addiction and learning how to manage it must become a priority.
  4. Recovery happens when you address the whole self. Addiction affects both mind and body. True recovery requires a holistic approach that strengthens every part of you.
  5. Change is necessary for lasting sobriety. The mindset and habits that led to addiction won’t support your new sober life. Lasting sobriety requires a shift in how you think, act, and live. Simply quitting isn’t enough — you need a foundation for real transformation.
  6. True freedom is only found in sobriety. Sobriety isn’t about giving something up — it’s about gaining freedom, clarity, and purpose. You’ll move from “I can’t live without alcohol” to “I can’t live with it.” Sobriety opens the door to the life you were meant to live.

In our meetups, you’ll learn how to:
See your addiction as something separate from you — an outside voice you can observe, control, and push back against.

Watch your addictive thoughts without reacting, and respond in ways that quiet them and lessen their impact.

Build daily routines that restore your health and wellness.

Break the habit loops that keep you stuck.

Explore how microdosing psilocybin can reduce urges and quiet the addictive voice.

Use movement, music, and meditation to calm the mind, restore your nervous system, and find a sense of peace and control.

Sobriety is not impossible — but it does take work and a plan. Here, we’ll figure it out together.

There is no cost to attend. Just bring your curiosity, your honesty, and your willingness to be part of a supportive conversation.

If you’ve ever thought there must be a better way, you’re not alone. Come join us.
