How to Live Sober: Friday Meetup

Details
A supportive, free discussion group to explore living alcohol-free. Each week we’ll learn about the six core beliefs that guide sober living, practice real techniques for living sober, and leave with tools you can use right away.
## Description
This free, in-person discussion group is for anyone who wants to live alcohol-free and learn practical ways to overcome addiction. You don’t need to call yourself an addict or follow a set program. What you’ll find here is real conversation, supportive community, and hands-on tools to help you live a life free from the control of alcohol.
I’m not a doctor or therapist. I’m someone who has lived through the struggle of alcohol and found a way out. I’ve been sober for 5 years, regained my health and strength, and after recently losing my best friend to alcohol addiction, I am determined to share what I’ve learned. While I’ll share insights from my own journey, the focus of this group is not my story — it’s the practical exercises, tools, and discussions we’ll explore together each week.
Our work is based on my six core beliefs:
- You are stronger than your addiction.
Addiction might feel overwhelming now, but it is not who you are. It’s a temporary state, and you have the power to step outside of it and take back control of your life. - Recovery should be empowering.
Sobriety isn’t about deprivation — it’s about freedom. The tools you gain in recovery don’t just help you stop drinking; they help you rebuild a stronger, healthier, more resilient life. - You need a plan, not just willpower.
White-knuckling it doesn’t work long term. Recovery takes structure, education, and growth. With the right tools, you can create a roadmap for lasting change. - Recovery happens when you address the whole self.
Addiction affects your mind, body, and emotions. True recovery strengthens all of you — physical health, mental clarity, and emotional balance. - Change is necessary for lasting sobriety.
The same mindset and habits that fed addiction can’t support your new life. Sobriety isn’t just about quitting alcohol — it’s about building new patterns, new rituals, and a new way of living. - True freedom is only found in sobriety.
Sobriety isn’t about giving something up — it’s about gaining everything. Clarity, freedom, purpose, and the ability to live the life you were meant for.
