Sunday Walk & BYO Picnic at Kensington Metropark

Join us for a relaxed Sunday afternoon at Kensington Metropark.
We’ll meet near the Kensington Metropark Nature Center, take an easy walk at a comfortable pace, then settle nearby afterward for a casual BYO picnic. Bring your own lunch, snack, coffee, or whatever sounds good. No need to bring anything to share.
Apart from the walk, there’s no agenda or structured activity. This is just an easy way to get outside, enjoy the park, and spend some time with local people.
Plan to arrive around 12:30 PM. We’ll give people a few minutes to gather, then start walking shortly after. After the walk, anyone who wants to can stick around for food and conversation.
The Nature Center area has access to trails, restrooms, and nearby picnic/rain shelter options, but we’ll keep the exact picnic spot flexible depending on space. Kensington is a Metropark, so a vehicle pass or daily entry fee is required. The park’s current page lists a $10 daily vehicle pass, and the Nature Center is open Sundays from 10 AM to 5 PM.
If the weather looks rough, I’ll post an update the day before with a backup plan.
